Call to order – by Mayor Johnson in attendance were Mayor Johnson, Councilwoman Tabi Gott, members Mike Pearson and Darryl Bowen, and staff liaison Danielle Pope 2. Minutes – Tabi Gott & Mike Pearson motioned & passed 3. Selection of Chair – Mayor Johnson would like to appoint Councilwoman Gott as chair, fine with Mike Pearson and Darryl Bowen, motioned passed Vice Chair – Mike Pearson nominated Councilman Brown, 2nd by Councilwoman Gott 4. Discussion on Parks & Recreation Committee action plan – • Councilwoman Gott asking the members what their ideas and guidance is for this. Mayor Johnson said there is a park’s master plan and lots of good ideas and would like to implement them when we get out of COVID, including grant usage, and how we define our roles. There’s no money for the committee, but money in the town budget to make an impact. • Councilwoman Gott asked if the committee has talked about the Charter and the role it has laid out for P&R. Mayor Johnson said it’ll be okay to brainstorm and talk it out. Councilwoman Gott and Councilman Brown brought up some good ideas at Council about upgrading the parks and if there was a special meeting needed. Mayor Johnson said he can send that document out to everyone. Mike Pearson agreed that it would be good to look at and to get the idea of what Council expects. Councilwoman Gott said that with 4k or so new homes it would be important to get ourselves ahead of the population. She also said that once we get a new action plan, the committee should have another discussion. 5. Discussion on new mission – Councilwoman Gott will send this out to everyone since no one had it in front of them. 6. Other committee business – • Councilwoman Gott asked if there was any other business or any other promises that haven’t been held up. Mike Pearson talked about the recent grants we received for Green Meadows and Sunnyside. Mayor Johnson said that grants need to be submitted to the Finance Dept./Cassandra Young, and they’ll eventually come out through the Finance Committee.  • Councilwoman Gott asked if there was anything else or any visitors who wanted to speak. There was none. • Mayor Johnson wanted to comment that he wants the best for the committee. • Mike Pearson wanted to add about the local Boy Scouts, and that they are willing to collaborate with the town. Mayor Johnson said that maybe they could get the Boy Scouts in for a Council Role Play Day. 7.
