Market Street Plaza, Smyrna, Delaware August 17, 2021 – 6:00 PM Agenda 1. Call to order – 6:04 p.m. 2. Minutes – 1st motion by Frederick Schaber, 2nd motion by Vice Chairman Gerald Brown 3. Welcome new member – Frederick Schaber 4. Discussion about Smyrna at Night - talked about Friday 8/27 event and what businesses downtown the artists will be placed at. Saturday 8/28 setup will start at 8 a.m. and end around 11/11:30 a.m. “Doors” will open to the public at 12 p.m. Music starts at 1 p.m. 5. Discussion on background checks – Chairwoman Gott said we’ll use SBI in Dover. No appointment necessary. She asked staff liaison Danielle to email the members to let them know and to remind them that they need their background check in order to be a part of/help with events. 6. Discuss on basketball courts – Chairwoman Gott thanked everyone for their hard work throughout the grant process and construction of the courts at Green Meadows and Sunnyside. 7. Other committee business – • Chairwoman Gott mentioned dancing on the plaza 3-4 weeks in October then maybe every other week afterwards? • Chairwoman Gott reminded everyone that the Veterans’ Day Ceremony will be last week in November or first week in December. • Other discussions on o Potential family fun day(s) o Having a Smyrna at Night table o 8/21 community cleanup in Sunnyside Village development • Next meeting: 9/14, 5 p.m. 8.
