Village of South Amherst Board of Cemetery Trustees Wednesday, February 14th, 2024 Meeting called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Rosemary Leshinski. Roll Call: Board members: Rosemary Leshinski, Lawerence Verga, Chris Gallagher Clerk, Natalie Iafolla Current Agenda: Addition to new business Cemetery Board of Trustee Responsibilities form. Motion to accept by Lawerence Verga, and Rosemary Leshinski seconded with all in favor. Approval of Minutes from 01/10/2024: Motion made to approve by Rosemary Leshinski, seconded by Lawerence Verga with all in favor. Visitors: Emil Ruth, Mayor Jones, Dennis Bruck Financial Reporting- Board received financial statements. Rosemary Leshinski motioned to accept and seconded by Lawerence Verga with all in favor. Fiscal Officer to attend March meeting. Old Business: Update on baby Ritz: Mayor Jones reported that information has been sent to law director and will update at March meeting. Catch basin evaluation: Street Commissioner aware and will be scheduled. Bukovec lot: Cemetery Clerk has sent deed to Mr. Bukovec. Cemetery Sexton/ Maintenance Position: Job description for this position given to board members, and hours worked for Jan reported. Appointment of Board Chairperson: Larry Verga motioned to open nominations, seconded by Rosemary Leshinski. Nominations opened. Larry Verga nominated Rosemary Leshinski, seconded by Rosemary Leshinski. Chris Gallagher nominated herself, no second. Larrry Verga motioned to close nomination seconded by Rosemary Leshinski. Nominations closed. Vote taken 2 to 1 with Rosemary Leshinski named as board Chairperson 2024. Revision of lot pricing: Tabled. Cemetery mapping: Larry Verga working on mapping. Requested information from board and clerk. Questions answered. Drainage in Sec B and L: Nothing to report at his time. Columbarium update: Cemetery clerk to schedule meeting with Kevin Hipp and village council. New Business: Cemetery Board of Trustees Responsibilities form: Presented by Mayor Jones and will be revised before board members are to sign and submit. No need for Cemetery Board Job description per Mayor Jones. Clerk Update: Dennis Bruck attended meeting and is requesting to buy one full lot in sec C and a lot next to it at discount price due to the lot not being large enough for a full internment. Rosemary Leshinski made a motion to sell the lot at half price of $480.00. Motion seconded by Chris Gallagher with all in favor. Clerk Update: Natalie Iaffola received an e-mail from Street Commissioner regarding servicing of back flow device in cemetery. All members in favor to move forward and have the service scheduled.
