Cemetery Board – Special Meeting

Village of South Amherst Cemetery Board Meeting 6/29/2022 Rosemary Leshinski called the meeting to order at 6:00pm Board Members present: Rosemary Leshinski, Marilyn Makruski, Village Council Liaison: None Visitors: None Roll Call Agenda Rosemary Leshinski asked if there were any additions to the agenda. None were made. Marylin Makruski moved to accept the agenda. Rosemary Leshinski seconded. The roll was called in favor. Meeting Minutes Ordinance Review: The Board reviewed codified ordinance #148.01 through 148.05 regarding Evergreen Cemetery accounting rules. Ref. Exhibit A. Jeanne Maschari and Paula Knodel reviewed the code and updated to reflect how the cemetery funds are being handled. Ref. Exhibit B. The Board reviewed the current and edited version. The Board agreed that the first line of section 148.05 should reflect the name “Perpetual Fund Account” and not “Income Account”. The Board agreed to approve the final line items adding the reporting responsibilities of the Cemetery Clerk. Rosemary Leshinski moved to accept the changed version of the code and submit it to Village Council for updated codification. Marylin Makruski seconded the motion. The roll was called in favor. Cemetery Bylaw Review: Andrew Johnson was not in attendance due to illness. Rosemary Leshinski, Marylin Makruski and Paula Knodel went through the document agreeing on changes that need to be made. Paula will be sending an updated version to the Board to continue the work of editing with Andrew’s input. The Board agreed to finalize the edited version by mid-July and present it for Village Council approval at that time. The goal is to finalize the document and have it approved as of 8/31/2022.
