South Amherst Board of Public Affairs Storm & Water Meeting Minutes for September 18, 2023 Call to order 7:00PM • Roll Call was conducted, and present were as follows: ▪ SABPA Board- Zoltan Zoltai (present), Mark Leshinski (present), Tom Pellitteri (present) ▪ Council Liaison: Jeri Leigh Siss (absent) ▪ Visitors: Mayor Leshinski (present); Guest – None ▪ Water/Storm Operator: Dennis Hevener (present) ▪ Water Clerk: Cindy Knudsen (present) Agenda Amendments: Catch basins Motion to approve agenda with amendments: • Motion made to approve agenda with amendment. Zoltan Zoltai moved to approve; Mark Leshinski 2nd. The roll was called and all in favor. • Motion to approve previous minutes from 09/06/23: Mark Leshinski moved to approve; Zoltan Zoltai 2nd. The roll was called and all in favor. Storm Water Operator: • 685 South Lake St.- Dennis and Mark Leshinski met to look an alternative. They discussed using a steel plate and drill holes for the catch basin. After discussion, a riser would be done by Dennis and David. Mark Leshinski requested a price on the riser and grate. Mark Leshinski moved to approve if under $800.00. Zoltan Zoltai 2nd. The roll was called with all in favor. • 114 Vivian St. – Received an approved permit from Lorain County Public Health. Did not tie into tile so no tap in permit needed. • Resident on Oakdale requesting to tie in downspouts into storm system. Dennis said he will inform the resident that he needs a permit. • 5906 Russia Rd. – Received permit back from the Health Department. The Clerks report: • Provided copy of open work orders (Exhibit C) Pending tap-ins: None Storm Financial Reports: • Exhibit A Zoltan Zoltai moved to approve. Tom Pellitteri 2nd. The roll was called with all in favor. Old Business- Storm: Mark Leshinski inquired if funding was available for a vac truck for catch basins. It was stated that at a prior meeting the Fiscal Office will notify the board in October if funding would be available. Also, it was asked where the debris from the catch basin would go. It was stated by Dennis that we have and agreement with Diggers where debris can be dewatered. New Business – Storm: None Water Water Operator: • 5905 Russia Rd. - Got price for pit of $2500 from Diggers. Culvert is dug out and have a meter for pit. There is separate pricing for the meter. • Asset Management report is about three quarters done and will be done by the end of the week. Will get it to the Water Clerk sometime next week to complete. • Dennis and David will be exercising the rest of valves. This will be completed by Wednesday. The Clerks report: • Could not arrange a conference call with Mr. Pado. Left a message with him to please contact me. I will follow up again on Tuesday with him. Old Business: None New Business: • Mark Leshinski volunteered to remove all contents from the old police vehicle. After discussion it was stated that the vehicle is under the Police Chief’s control on how the items will be removed. Zoltan Zoltai stated that we would need, in writing and signed off by the Police Chief, the approval  to remove the items and a listing of the items to be removed.
