Village of South Blooming Grove REGULAR MEETING Monday August 24, 2020 7:00 P.M. ➢ Call to order o Mayor LoFranco called to order the Village Board Meeting at 7:00 p.m. on August 24, 2020, at the South Blooming Grove Village Hall located at 811 State Route 208, within the Village of South Blooming Grove, and having a mailing address of Monroe, New York. ➢ Roll call The following persons were present: o James LoFranco- Mayor o John L. Ross – Deputy Mayor o Sue Anne Vogelsberg – Trustee o Johnny Belfort – Trustee o Patricia Morrice - Trustee o Joseph McKay – Village Attorney ➢ Correspondence: • None ➢ Public Comments • None ➢ Mayor and Trustee Comments o Mayor LoFranco asked residents to come out for the September 11, memorial services to remember those that were lost and those we continue to lose on a daily basis. The Merriewold water filtration project is continuing to make progress and they are preparing to pour the foundation. The new curbs are complete on Sears Road and they are moving onto Green Road this week. When the curbing is complete, they will begin repaving Sears Road, Green Road, Michael Court and Galveston. We are meeting with the Department of Health in order to hopefully get another well approved which will help the village. The village continues to look for additional well locations and water for the village. o Trustee Morrice announced that school is opening and asked residents to drive safe. o Deputy Mayor Ross asked that residents get out and vote in the upcoming elections. He added that projects are ongoing and being fulfilled as promised; this is a strong board for the village. o Trustee Vogelsberg reminded residents to complete their Census form and to get out and vote. o Trustee Belfort asked residents to drive safe with schools opening and be aware of your speed. Voting in any election is important, get out and vote. ➢ Abstract o Motion to adopt the Abstract by Trustee Vogelsberg, seconded by Deputy Mayor Ross, 5 Ayes, Mayor LoFranco, Deputy Mayor Ross, Trustee Vogelsberg, Trustee Morrice and Trustee Belfort. 1  Village of South Blooming Grove REGULAR MEETING Monday August 24, 2020 7:00 P.M. ➢ Business o Resolution No. (30) - Resolution of the Village Board of the Village of South Blooming Grove setting the date and hours of the Village’s September 11 candlelight vigil. Motion to accept by Trustee Vogelsberg, seconded by Deputy Mayor Ross. Resolution passed. 5 ayes, Mayor LoFranco, Deputy Mayor Ross, Trustee Vogelsberg, Trustee Morrice and Trustee Belfort. o Resolution No. (31) – Resolution of the Village Board of the Village of South Blooming Grove authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with Peak Power for Generator maintenance services. Motion to accept by Trustee Vogelsberg, seconded by Deputy Mayor Ross. Resolution passed. 5 ayes, Mayor LoFranco, Deputy Mayor Ross, Trustee Vogelsberg, Trustee Morrice and Trustee Belfort. ➢ Adjournment o Motion to enter into attorney client session at 7:08pm by Trustee Vogelsberg, seconded by Deputy Mayor Ross. 5 Ayes, Mayor LoFranco, Deputy Mayor Ross, Trustee Vogelsberg, Trustee Morrice and Trustee Belfort. o Motion to exit attorney client session at 7:42 p.m. by Trustee Vogelsberg, seconded by Deputy Mayor Ross. 5 Ayes, Mayor LoFranco, Deputy Mayor Ross, Trustee Vogelsberg, Trustee Morrice and Trustee Belfort. o Motion to close the meeting at 7:42 p.m. by Trustee Vogelsberg, seconded by Deputy Mayor Ross. 5 Ayes, Mayor LoFranco, Deputy Mayor Ross, Trustee Vogelsberg, Trustee Morrice and Trustee Belfort.
