Village of South Blooming Grove special MEETING VIA WEBINAR Thursday September 3, 2021 4:00 PM  Call to order Mayor Kalaj called to order the Village Special Board Meeting at 4:06 pm on September 3, 2021, via Zoom Webinar ID: 871 1677 5188 for the Village of South Blooming Grove located at 819 State Route 208, within the Village of South Blooming Grove, and having a mailing address of Monroe, New York.  Roll call The following persons were present: o Mayor’s George Kalaj – Mayor o Abraham Weiss – Deputy Mayor o Yitzchok Feldman– Trustee o Asher Guttman - Trustee o Zalmon Rosner – Trustee o Scott B. Ugell, Esq. – Village Attorney o Joel Stern – Confidential Assistant to Mayor o Isaac Ekstein – Legislative Aide to Mayor  Comments: o The Mayor advised that this is an emergency meeting. Orange & Rockland and attorney Ugell is working on an easement with their attorney. There has been a request to flush the water system and that should be later on this month and we hope for cleaner water.  Business o Resolution No. (103) – Resolution of the Village Board of the Village of South Blooming Grove authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with Anue Water Technologies for a pilot program as requested by Orange County Sewer District #1. Motion to accept by Trustee Rosner, seconded by Mayor Kalaj, 5 Ayes, Mayor Kalaj, Deputy Mayor Weiss, Trustee Feldman, Trustee Guttman and Trustee Rosner. o Resolution No. (104) - Resolution of the Village Board of the Village of South Blooming Grove appointing Al Fusco as Code Enforcement Officer of the Village of South Blooming Grove. Motion to accept by Trustee Rosner, seconded by Mayor Kalaj. 5 Ayes, Mayor Kalaj, Deputy Mayor Weiss, Trustee Feldman, Trustee Guttman and Trustee Rosner.  Trustee Comments o Trustee Rosner thanked the Mayor for what a good job with the storm yesterday cleaning up with Mr. Bittman and Mr. Halpert. Trustee Guttman agreed and shared that everybody is saying that what a great job with the storm and afterwards. Addressing the Pennsylvania issue and all other issues. The Mayor thanked Mr. Ekstein and Mr. Stern, they worked all night long to assess damages and driving around the village. o Joel Stern on behalf of the entire village and the entire community to thank the Mayor for leading the charge and being in control of the situation, it is what make the Village of South Blooming Grove what it is, thank you so much. o Isaac Ekstein in the future would like to review the storm and see how to prepare even better next time. Which sewer systems need to be flushed ahead of time, where there are weak points so that we can be even better prepared.  Adjournment o Motion to close the meeting at 4:13 p.m. by Mayor Kalaj, seconded by Trustee Rosner. 5 Ayes, Mayor Kalaj, Deputy Mayor Weiss, Trustee Feldman, Trustee Guttman and Trustee Rosner.
