Village of South Blooming Grove Regular Meeting Monday April 25, 2022 8:00pm  Call to order Mayor Kalaj called to order the Village Board Meeting at 8:02pm on April 25, 2022, via Zoom Webinar ID: 851 3407 8566 for the Village of South Blooming Grove located at 811 State Route 208, within the Village of South Blooming Grove, and having a mailing address of Monroe, New York.  Roll call The following persons were present: o Mayor’s George Kalaj – Mayor o Abraham Weiss – Deputy Mayor o Zalmon Rosner – Trustee o Asher Guttman- Trustee o Joel Stern – Confidential Assistant to the Mayor o Isaac Ekstein- Legialative Aide to Mayor o Al Fusco, Village Engineer o Scott Ugell Esq.- Village Attorney Absent o Yitzchok Feldman- Trustee  Discussion o The Mayor advised that we had another sewer backup on Tanager Road. Do not flush wipes or other items as they cause backups in the sewer. o Engineer Al Fusco explained the re-bid process, there were not enough bidders for one project and bidders had conflicting information on the other. This would not be acceptable therefore the Village will be re-bidding the projects for Prospect and Merriewold. o Attorney Ugell is researching the open meetings laws pertaining to a hybrid meeting approach. A public hearing is scheduled for Mary 23, 2022  Public Comment o Sue Anne Vogelsberg – Prospect Road on both sides of the street is crumbling 12-18 inches on each side which is narrowing the road, may need repaving. A lot of neighbors continue to leave the lids on garbage cans open which is causing garbage and debris to blow into roadway and on other properties. Why does the correspondence regarding the re-bidding include non-elected officials on it. Motion to accept by Trustee Guttman, seconded by Trustee Rosner. 4 Ayes – Mayor Kalaj, Deputy Mayor Weiss, Trustee Guttman and Trustee Rosner, 1 Absent – Trustee Feldman. o Resolution No. (054) – Resolution of the Village Board of the Village of South Blooming Grove rejecting Merriewold Drainage bid and authorize a re-bid.. Motion to accept by Deputy Mayor Weiss, seconded by Trustee Guttman. 4 Ayes, Mayor Kalaj, Deputy Mayor Weiss, Trustee Rosner and Trustee Guttman. 1 absent – Trustee Feldman o Resolution No. (055) – Resolution of the Village Board of the Village of South Blooming Grove rejecting Prospect Road Drainage bid and authorize a re- bid.
