southburlington VERMONT SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL 5 JUNE 2025 The South Burlington City Council held a special meeting on Thursday, 5 June 2025, at 3: 00 p. m., in Room 301, 180 Market Street, and by Zoom. MEMBERS PRESENT: T. Barritt, Chair; E. Fitzgerald, L. Smith, A. Chalnick, M. Scanlan ALSO PRESENT: J. Baker, City Manager; S. Dooley, R. Doyle, H. Painter, P. Plumeau, L. Bailey, L. Diamond, M. Behr, J. Balerna, K. Liamos, S. Znamierowski, B. Withey, M. Chalnick, A. Haefele, S. Pape 1. Pledge of Allegiance: The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. 2. Instructions on exiting building in case of emergency and review of technology option: Ms. Baker provided instructions on emergency exit from the building and reviewed technology options. 3. Additions, deletions or changes in the order of Agenda items: No changes were made to the Agenda. 4. Comments and questions from the public not related to the agenda: There were no comments or questions from the public. 5. Conduct Interviews for City Committees The Council interviewed the following applicants for City Committees and Commissions: a. Karen Liamos— Library Board of Trustees b. Sandra Dooley— Housing Committee ( incumbent) c. Stephen Znamierowski - Bike/ Ped Committee d. Peter Plumeau - City Charter Committee PAGE 1  e. Linda Bailey- City Charter Committee f. Mark Behr- Development Review Board ( or Public Arts Committee) g. Lydia Diamond- Housing Committee h. Stacey Pape— Library Board of Trustees ( incumbent, applying for 1- year term) i. Holly Painter— Library Board of Trustees ( incumbent) j. Ashley Haefele— Library Board of Trustees k. Brenda Withey— Library Board of Trustees ( specifically Finance Committee) Mr. Chalnick recused himself during the next interview due to a potential conflict of interest as the applicant is a family member. I. Jessica Balerna — Natural Resources and Conservation Committee m. Miles Chalnick— Natural Resources and Conservation Committee Mr. Chalnick rejoined the Council following the NRCC interviews. n. Ryan Doyle —Planning Commission o. Chris LaMothe — Parks and Recreation Committee Mr. Barritt informed applicants that the Council would make its decisions known at its 16 June City Council meeting. All applicants will be informed of the decisions. It was noted that one incumbent on a committee missed the deadline to apply. There are not enough applicants for the Energy Committee. There is a person who would apply if applications were re- opened. 6. Other Business: No other business was brought forth. As there was no further business to come before the Council Mr. Scanlan moved to adjourn. Mr. Chalnick seconded. Motion passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 6:03 p. m.
