Health Department BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING SOUTH MILWAUKEE/ ST. FRANCIS HEALTH DEPARTMENT THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 2020 @ 6:30 PM South Milwaukee City Administration Building 2424 15th Avenue, South Milwaukee, WI 53172 Committee Room of the Common Council Chambers MINUTES Attendance: Dr. Scalzitti, Vicki Dominski, Kristin Drenzek, Jerry Bzdawka, Alder Matt Damon, Jackie Ove, Karen Stewart. Excused: Cyndi Kieck, Liz Keller, Alder Peggy Clark 1. Call to order- Called to order by Dr. Scalzitti at 6:34 p.m. 2. Agenda additions/ announcements/ information- none 3. Approval of the minutes from the December 5, 2019 meeting, Matt Damon moved, and Vickie seconded, to approve the minutes, motion carried. 4. Medical Advisor Report- Changes for Immunization practice for Hepatitis A catch up schedule, Tdap for boosters, Measles increase in 2019. 5. Public Health Administrator Report-  Continue to work with Cudahy and Oak Creek to complete community health assessment. Should be finalized this month. Will move forward with our own Community Health Improvement Plan.  Held a successful car seat event in coordination with St. Francis Fire Dept. on February 12, all appointments were full  Flu season has picked up and we have a number of hospitalized cases in both communities  COVID 19, Wuhan Coronavirus learning and following up on Persons Under Investigation that we receive from the State  Continue to work on committees for DNC  Will be working on holding focus groups for vulnerable populations regarding emergency preparedness  Fit testing Fire in both communities for N95 respirators, and will be starting with Police Depts.  Next March 10 will cohost Bullying Seminar at St. Francis Library, flyer South Milwaukee City Administration Building • 2424 15th Avenue • South Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53172 Phone: 414-768-8055 • Fax: 414-768-5720 • smwi.org  Health Department  Conducted BP and cholesterol testing for employees for heart health month  March 18 will be co-sponsoring a blood drive with the South Milwaukee Lions Club here at City Hall  April 1st will be the 4th Annual Substance Misuse information and resource fair at St. Francis Civic Center 6-8pm  We will have the next South Milwaukee/St. Francis Healthy Community Partnership Meeting May 11, 2020.  Debbie and Mary went to shadow for billing for reproductive health  Met with Dr. Scalzitti for policies for narcan and reproductive health, we can now educate and distribute narcan 6. Emerging communicable disease- influenza, coronavirus Discussed number of Flu cases and the emergence of Coronavirus in Wuhan China, will continue to monitor. 7. Community health assessment- Shared top five areas of concern identified from local survey completed.
