Fundraising/Grant Opportunities ● Update on submission to Maine Arts Commission community art grant for additional funding for Trail Side Art Project. ○ Marin and Deidra submitted the grant proposal Page 5 of 8 ○ Caveat in the proposal is that work wouldn’t begin until after July 1 based on the budget requirements (if we win the grant) ○ With a cost over $3500, the work would have to go out to bid ■ The grant proposal is written broadly for the entire art trail to avoid locking us into issuing an RFP to specifically build the prototype structures ■ We can remain flexible about finding art to populate the structures ■ Thanks to Deidra for crafting a tremendous proposal template ■ Got great feedback from City Manager and Planning offices, and they trusted us to complete the application process hands-off ■ We expect to hear if we got the grant in late June ● Could make implementation before Art in the Park tight 3. Trailside Art Enclosure Update ● Committee will discuss next steps on Trailside Art Project. ○ Expect installation to cost roughly $2060 per unit for 2-post format (without art) ● Committee will discuss creating a call for artists to paint murals on structures and designate subcommittee to draft call for artists. ○ We should give Shara as much lead time and content as possible to advertise the opportunity to artists ○ Graffiti wall? ○ Disclaimer for potential unauthorized commercial use E.
