MINUTES OF JULY 17, 2018
Mayor James Francis called the regular meeting of the City Council to order at 7:30 p.m. on
Tuesday, July 17, 2018.
ROLL CALL:

Absent: Councilmember Hansen

Resolved, that the South St. Paul City Council does hereby approve the following:
A. City Council meeting minutes of July 2, 2018
B. Resolution No. 2018-121, approving accounts payable
C. Hiring of Maxwell Wallin as IT Specialist for the City of South St. Paul,
contingent upon successful completion of a background check
D. Business licenses

E. Resolution No. 2018-120, accepting bids and approving Cleaning Services
Agreement with Advantage Structure Valet
F. Resolution No. 2018-122, accepting gift from Ann Meehl to purchase bike
care in memory of her late husband, Robert Meehl
G. Purchase of a four wheel drive vehicle at the airport to replace existing car
that is being used
H. Resolution No. 2018-123, accepting Gifts and Grants from South St. Paul
High School and the South St. Paul Baseball Association for funding of two
pitching screens
I. Waiver of the $480 Kaposia Park Pavilion rental fee and the $80 Kaposia Park
picnic shelter fee for a military picnic by the US Army National Guard
Holman Field 34th Aviation Combat Brigade
J. Final Closeout of FAA Grant 3-27-0093-17-17 SRE – Loader, Plow and
Pusher
K. Purchase of emergency replacement of the switches that make up the City’s
core network stack
L. Accept resignation from Tyler Strong, Staff Engineer with the City of South
St. Paul effective July 24, 2018

10A) Variances for Rear and Side Yard Setbacks – 260 19th Avenue South

MOVED: To adopt Resolution No. 2018-119, approving a side and front setback
variance on the property at 260 19th Avenue South
Motion carried 4 ayes (Flatley, Podgorski, Rothecker, Seaberg)
