SOUTH ST. PAUL CITY COUNCIL MINUTES OF JUNE 3, 2019 Mayor James Francis called the regular meeting of the City Council to order at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 15, 2019. ROLL CALL: Present: Mayor Francis Councilmembers Dewey, Flatley, Forester, Hansen, Kaliszewski and Seaberg Absent: None Also Present: City Administrator, Joel Hanson Attorney, Peter Mikhail City Clerk, Christy Wilcox Deputy City Clerk, Renee Schmitt 5) Presentations  Members of the Kaposia Days Committee discussed the 2019 Kaposia Days events and activities.  Terry Pieper, Sr. Vice Commander provided an update on their activities and process of continuing to look for a building within South St. Paul. They are currently located at 1401 Thompson Avenue. 6) Citizens’ Comments  Resident of the John Carroll Highrise spoke in regards to the current management. 7) Agenda Moved by Seaberg/Flatley MOVED: To approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried 7 ayes / 0 nays 8) Consent Agenda Moved by Kaliszewski/Hansen Resolved, that the South St. Paul City Council does hereby approve the following: A. Assessment Waiver Agreement for 1823 Wentworth Avenue B. Resolution No. 2019-89 approving accounts payable City Council Minutes of June 3, 2019 1 C. Resolution No. 2019-86, enter into a Dry Floor Agreement with Minnesota Roller Girls at Doug Woog Arena D. Business Licenses E. Resolution No. 2019-87, accepting gifts and grants from the South-West Lioness Club F. 2019 1st Quarter Financial Report G. Resolution No. 2019-88, authorizing 2018 Budget Amendments H. Accept letter of resignation from Megan Chu, Community Service Officer with the South St. Paul Police Department effective June 7, 2019, and authorize staff to begin the hiring process for a replacement I. Approve bid from HDR, Inc. for the Independent Fee Estimate for the 2019 Runway Reconstruction Design Project J. Resolution No. 2019-90, accepting the year ended 12/31/18 Audited Financial Reports Motion carried 7 ayes/0 nays 10A) Special Event License Request by Kaposia Club Moved by Flatley/Forester MOVED: To approve the Special Event License for Kaposia Club located at 456 South Concord Exchange for Saturday, June 29, 2019, from 6:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. subject to the speakers being directed to the east.
