Spearfish Special Election Canvass Board Special Session Minutes October 15, 2019 The Spearfish City Council met for the Election Canvassing in the Council Chambers at City Hall at 4:58 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 with the following members present: Clark, Eisenbraun, Hodgs, and Jacobs. Also present: City Administrator Harmon, Finance Officer DeNeui, and Finance Accountant Hafner. Council President Hodgs presided and called the meeting to order. All stood and recited the Pledge of Allegiance. Clark moved, Jacobs seconded and all voted to approve the agenda. No conflicts of interest were noted. Finance Officer DeNeui read the returns from the County Auditor’s tabulations and the governing board was satisfied they were accurate and genuine and matched the official canvass sheet. Council Member Hodgs declared the results of Robert J. Herrmann, Ward 2 Council Member. Eisenbraun moved, Clark seconded and all voted to approve the official canvass sheet. Clark moved, Jacobs seconded and all voted to approve Resolution 2019-21 as follows: RESOLUTION 2019-21 A RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE VOTES OF THE 2019 SPECIAL ELECTION BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Spearfish, South Dakota, as follows: 1. The Special Election held on October 8, 2019 has in all respects been duly called and held and canvassed. 2. At said election, the total number of votes cast at each and all polling places were as follows: Candidates Votes Ward II Ken A. Schallenkamp 62 Robert J. Herrmann 69 Tom Berry 51 Dated this the 15th day of October, 2019.
