City Council Study Session

City of Spearfish City Council Study Session Minutes April 10, 2024, 4:15 p.m. The City Council Study Session was called to order by Mayor Senden at 4:15 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. The following c o u n c i l members were present: Clark, Hourigan, Jacobs, Klarenbeek, and Rath. Absent: Hodgs. City staff present were: Finance Officer DeNeui, City Attorney McDonald, Public Works Director McMahon, and Public Safety Director Rotert. Rath moved, Klarenbeek seconded, and all voted to approve the agenda. Eagle Aviation Presentation – Ray Jilek introduced the new owner, Channing Wager, of Eagle Aviation. Wagner provided background information about his education and work experience. Draft Agenda – The draft agenda for the April 15, 2024, City Council Regular Session was reviewed. It was noted that the bid opening for police vehicles was held and will be on Monday’s agenda for acceptance. The public comment period was opened and closed at 4:35 p.m. with no comments received. Mayor Senden mentioned that on the evening of April 17, 2024, Office Reece Walno will be presented with the South Dakota Officer of the Year Award during the South Dakota Police Chiefs’ Conference. Senden mentioned that over the last seven years, three officers from the Spearfish Police Department have been awarded this distinguished honor. No additional discussions were held, and with a motion from Hourigan and second from Rath, the meeting adjourned at 4:37 p.m.
