City of Spearfish Legal, Finance, and Public Safety Committee Minutes February 24, 2021 The Legal, Finance and Public Safety Committee met at 4:15 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 with the following committee members present: Jacobs, Klarenbeek and Lee. Absent: None. Also present were: City Administrator Harmon, City Attorney McDonald, City Planner Watson, Public Safety Director Rotert, Finance Officer DeNeui and Assistant Finance Officer Greibler. City Administration FYI – Library, Parks and Recreation and Public Works will present their 2020 Annual Departmental Reports on Monday, March 1, 2021. FYI – Engineering, Finance, Human Resources, Planning & Zoning and Public Safety will present their 2020 Annual Departmental Reports on Monday, March 15, 2021. Planning & Zoning Ordinance 1339 – Committee recommended to full council to hold a public hearing and approve second reading of Ordinance 1339 - A revision to Appendix A Zoning, Article V. Supplementary Regulations, Section 3. Minimum Off Street Parking Requirements. Public Safety FYI – Items from Visitors – Presentation of the Officer of the Year Award to Christopher Woods. FYI – Items from Visitors – Badge pinning ceremony for Sergeant Dustin Bush. Resolution 2021-06 – Committee recommended to full council to adopt Resolution 2021-06 – A Resolution Providing Incentives and Stipends for Volunteer Firefighters. Public Comment The public comment section was opened at 4:20 p.m. and closed with no comments. Finance Officer DeNeui provided an update on the petitions filed for the upcoming April 13, 2021 city election. Deadline to file petitions is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 26, 2021 and the Finance Office will be open until the deadline. No additional discussions were held and the meeting was adjourned at 4:22 p.m.
