CITY OF SPEARFISH 625 Fifth Street, Spearfish S.D. 57783 Telephone: (605) 642-1333 Parks, Recreation, & Forestry Advisory Board – MINUTES Thursday, March 17, 2016 I City Hall – Council Chambers I 7:00 am APPROVAL OF AGENDA /APPROVAL OF MINUTES OLD BUSINESS  DESIGN BUILD RFP RESULTS – o Cunningham Recreation  LAND TASK FORCE UPDATE o Reconvene at future date for Phase 2 to look at long range planning and rec path expansion.  LOOKOUT ROOM UPDATE o Alecia has talked to architect with proposed plans to prioritize the needs for the room. Waiting for architect to update.  HOCKEY MOU REVISIONS o MOU signed by School Dist and City. Will need to refocus on funding to get indoors or refrigeration. Starting to gather equipment, and kids are excited (over 100) but need to find a place for ice.  DONATION POLICY o Clarify that Pre-Loaded Gift cards need to be used towards memberships – not merchandise. Has already been approved by Council.  SCHOLARSHIP POLICY o Review next month with policy in hand.  REC GRANT UPDATE o Grant info has been sent out, April meeting will be the review of applications at 5:30 pm – Council Chambers. PARKS & REC NEW ITEMS Street Tree policy was approved by council. $14,500 for replacement and removal of street tree - Half of funds for each. Permit process online. Will match a tree up to $125. Residents will take ownership by watering trees. Arbor Day – April 19th Dave, Karen – move to adjourn PRFA BOARD ITEMS CONSENT AGENDA /Community Activity FYI ITEMS – It’s a Great Day for a 5k - Apr 16 Bunny Run - Jorgensen Park Easter Egg Hunt - March 26th @ 10 am SHARP! City Park Bandshell - FREE for children 10 & under Rummage Sale - Saturday, April 9th @ 7 am – noon - Spearfish Rec Center Lookout Room!
