Meeting called to order: McCart 7:06am
APPROVAL OF AGENDA: motion by Kelly 2nd Donat, motion passed
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: motion by Kelly with amendment to Old Business/Parks & Forestry/b./ 1st line

ITEMS FROM VISITORS (Policy Note: Visitors are limited to 5 minutes of presentation followed by questions)
a. Mountain Bike Club presentation- Geoff Gloceri & Kevin Jasper presented on their goals: 1.maps and
signage for all trails to help visitors navigate, 2.Ensure trails are safe and sustainable for all user
groups-improve hiking trail to summit-reroute problematic and/or dangerous areas, 3.Rehab old trail
tread and close non-system trails, 4.Set up hiking only access to hiking trails with walkovers.
OLD BUSINESS
Board Items
a. Schedule Pathway Workshop: Mader sent email out to the board members prior to meeting. Need to
set up a date for workshop, (see notes from Donat) for pathway development and Mader’s email with
the suggested pathways. Mader will request board members email him on suggested date and time for
workshop to create the priority list to present to council.
Park & Forestry
Rec & Aquatic Center
a. Rec Grant- Need to have a quorum to vote for the grant dates, Brett will submit motion via email vote
for all to participate.
NEW BUSINESS
Board Items
a. Capital funds distribution: Mader 2018 budget, Jackson street project and funding via bonding option.
Looking at money that was set aside for Parks & Rec and where these funds will be spent.
Reprioritizing the funding Sandstone project (primitive trail instead) and move the funds to Parks
equipment which is a critical need for updates. Readdress the Rec Center funds and priority of need in
the facility. Kelly suggested priority list ready in case finances come available.
b. Second Penny priority list, ideas, etc. for budget Mader addressed wants vs needs
Park & Forestry
a. Campground check in policy: Ehnes reports the changes of the campground in the last 3 years. Trend in
campground usage is customers staying for week rather than a weekend destination. Need to
accommodate to the new usage of the campground. Ehnes asked the board for further discussion of
early check in fees and the need for sites to be maintained prior to 2pm check in. Check in early fee of
$15, recommended to get rid of this fee and would need to go to council. This will be an email vote for
recommendation.

Rec & Aquatic Center
a. Elimination the non-resident fee (or resident discount): Rauterkus presented on the elimination of the
non-resident fee and Mader voiced his disapproval of the current rates. Recommendation to create
one rate for all fees and using the local rate with a timeline of starting on January 1, 2018. We will
market the change to promote the nonresidents for the support.
