ITEMS FROM VISITORS (Policy Note: Visitors are limited to 5 minutes of presentation followed by questions)
OLD BUSINESS
Director Items
• Q & A on September Board Update
o Donat asked about tree projects (removal/dead trees) – Large removals will be
contracted out – Parks dept. can do work from the ground or a small utility truck.
o Caldwell 605 classic – McDonald thought it went well. Moving forward look at Lions
Park for more events.
o Neilson – the fence that was put up went across the bike path – Caldwell will pass it on
to the event coordinator. Porta-Potties or additional restrooms needed.
o Ehnes – pickleball grand opening yesterday went well. Grant reimbursement was
approved. Will be wrapped up on Monday night at the council meeting. 33% over
budget.
• Peoria and Rushmore Bridge Update – City Engineer Kyle Mathis
o Removal of bridges was the cheapest option.
o Peoria bridge was put in before FEMA guidelines – FEMA said they would allow the
bridge to stay.
o Replace the Peoria bridge with the Rushmore bridge if the engineering company
comes back with proof that it will not cause a rise. This would include extending the
rec path to the bridge.
o Council approved this plan.
o Rec Path going to old Rushmore Bridge will be removed and turned back to grass. On
the other side, it would be a dead-end.
