Motion by Caldwell to approve agenda as amended; Griffith Seconds – Motion Carries with Anundson, Caldwell, Coburn, Donat, Griffith, Neilson, and Clark voting yes APPROVAL OF MINUTES – Motion by Griffith; Anundson Seconds – Motion Carries with Anundson, Caldwell, Coburn, Donat, Griffith, Neilson, and Clark voting yes Next Meeting – December, 17, 2020 – Zoom  Parks, Recreation, & Forestry Advisory Board – MINUTES Thursday, November 19th, 2020 I City Hall – Zoom Option Only I 7:30 am ITEMS FROM VISITORS (Policy Note: Visitors are limited to 5 minutes of presentation followed by questions) OLD BUSINESS Director Items • Master Planning Update – Assistant City Planner Van Holland and Park and Rec Director Ehnes o Would like the master plan to go to the board and council beginning of next year o The community input survey was used to drive the document and show the priorities of different projects. o Flow Chart for adding parks and other improvements – to make the process less subjective o Ehnes put together a benchmark of how we compare to other communities • Rec Path Phase 2 Flyover o Vig and Ehnes presented for the 400,000 TA grant o Will find out around February 2021 o Have not gotten written agreements yet only about 30% into the project • Sports Complex Plans and Renderings o 4 softball fields and 6 soccer fields o See attached file for renderings Board Items • Q & A November Update Rec & Aquatic Center Park & Forestry NEW BUSINESS Board Items • Petrika Peters and Jesse Hansen Positions o Their two positions are now open o Donat’s position ends in December – He would like to step down o Coburn’s position ends in December – he would like to stay on o Mayor will appoint new members in 2021 • Officer Positions for 2021 o Let Ehnes know if you are interested in the Chair Position o Caldwell, Neilson, Coburn thanked Donat for service to the board Director Items Next Meeting – December, 17, 2020 – Zoom  Parks, Recreation, & Forestry Advisory Board – MINUTES Thursday, November 19th, 2020 I City Hall – Zoom Option Only I 7:30 am Rec & Aquatic Center • Rec Center Hours of Operation o 24 Hour Access ▪ Committee meeting to discuss the hours of the operation • Sunday and Saturday top priority • Longer hours on the weekdays • 5am -8:30pm or 9pm • Future looking at being open 24 hours • Fencing completed on the pool deck o Eliminated safety concerns of the waterpark o 24 access hopefully by the end of March 2021. Park & Forestry • Keeping check-in and online reservations at the campground – Something that was implemented because of COVID. • Volunteer program went well – helped without having full seasonal staff • Adopt-a-Park program is going well o Sending letters to current organizations participating in the adopt a park to see if they want to continue their adoption FYI ITEMS • Winter Wonderland December 11th-12th, 18th-19th, 24th & 26th 5:00 -8:00 PM PUBLIC COMMENT Anundson brought up the Ice Rink in the Campground – Discussion about an adult or youth hockey tournament that could be used for a fundraiser for the hockey association. Anundson will bring more details to the December meeting McDonald will bring ideas to the December meeting for an ice schedule – family versus hockey.
