THE FOLLOWING MINUTES ARE SUBJECT TO MODIFICATION AND ARE NOT OFFICIAL MINUTES UNTIL APPROVED BY THE SPRING HILL GREEN BOARD Spring Hill Green Board Regular Meeting Minutes May 18, 2015 CALL TO ORDER Doug D’Albini called the meeting to order at 7:10 pm ROLL CALL Present: Laila Reis Doug D’Albini Mark Squire Absent: Stephen Bayer Staff Present: Beau Ford, Parks Superintendent Dora Davison, Green Board Secretary Meeting Attendees: Jason Goin, Director of Spring Hill Recreation Commission APPROVAL OF AGENDA Motion by Doug D’Albini, seconded by Mark Squire to modify the agenda adding discussion for 2016 Budget items. Motion carried. Motion by Doug D’Albini, seconded by Mark Squire to approve the agenda. Motion carried. FORMAL BOARD ITEMS 1. Approval of Minutes: April 20, 2015 Motion by Doug D’Albini, seconded by Laila Reis to approve the Minutes. Motion carried. 2. Green Board Group picture. Motion made by Laila Reis, seconded by Doug D’Albini to move group picture to June 15, 2015. Motion carried. 3. Recycling a. Mark Squire will continue research to establish the average amount of recycling per Spring Hill household to compare with the national average to determine areas for improvement. b. Glass Recycling sites were discussed, ACG was recommended as a drop. Ripple Glass will be contacted concerning possibly establishing a site in Spring Hill for glass recycling. 4. Future SHRC events for board consideration a. Fishing Derby i. Casting Contest will be at 9am Saturday June 6th. Mark Squire and Doug D’Albini volunteered to staff the casting contest. Beau Ford will supply targets and weighted lures. Fishing pole and prizes will be supplied by SHRC. b. Touch a Truck i. Organize and staff a recycling day and document shredding service. Beau Ford will contact multiple shredding companies for pricing. 5. 2015 Budget a. Melvin Murray Park planning i. Beau Ford will write the desired scope of services for the engineer to consider. Trail System planning i. Engineer will be asked to attend an open forum to discuss city-wide trail system. 6. 2016 Budget & Budget Planning a. Basketball Courts – 3 full sized courts will be requested. Locations to be determined, possible locations include: Village Park, Baseball fields and Aquatic Center. b. Request for funding trail system will be made. Beau Ford will determine a possible price per mile to base request upon. 7. Parks Update a. Spring Hill Lake – RFP will be completed soon. i. Boating Ordinance will need to be modified. ii. Green Board will be asked to provide direction for amenities. 1. Dog Park was requested.
