CALL TO ORDER
Doug D’Albini called the meeting to order at 7:01 pm

APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Motion by Laila Reis, seconded by Mark Squire to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
FORMAL BOARD ITEMS
1. Approval of Minutes: June 15, 2015
Motion by Laila Reis, seconded by Mark Squire to approve the Minutes. Motion carried.
2. 2015 Green Board Group picture will be taken September 21, 2015.
3. Recycling – Ripple Glass
a. Ripple Glass is currently gathering information on availability and associated costs.
i. Once this information is received the Green Board will discuss location
possibilities and seek funding for glass recycling.
4. Community Gardening
a. Beau Ford is researching model ordinances and will provide location options at the next
meeting.
5. Fall Festival – September 18, 2015
a. Shredding Truck (onsite shredding services) will be available from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
i. The City of Spring Hill has agreed to share cost with the SHRC.
ii. Volunteers were requested to assist with shredding operation. Laila Reis agreed
to help from 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

6. Hometown Holidays – December 5, 2015
a. The Board agreed to either host an activity or help with the distribution of warm
beverages. This will be discussed in more detail at the September meeting.
7. Parks Department Update
a. City Lake Update – There is a property issue that is being addressed to allow access to
City Lake. It was suggested by the Board that the City’s Public Affairs Specialist give an
update of progress on the City Lake Plans.
b. Beau Ford spoke with Mayor Ellis on July 20, 2015 regarding the use of engineering
services and future park plans. The determination was made to move forward with
engineering services for the upper pond at Melvin Murray Park in Woodland Ridge. The
remaining engineering funds will be used to develop a comprehensive parks plan that
will encompass all park areas, trail system and future development.
