THE FOLLOWING MINUTES ARE SUBJECT TO MODIFICATION AND ARE NOT OFFICIAL MINUTES UNTIL APPROVED BY THE SPRING HILL PARKS ADVISORY BOARD Spring Hill Parks Advisory Board Meeting Minutes December 18, 2017 CALL TO ORDER Doug D’Albini called the meeting to order at 6:58 p.m. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE ROLL CALL Present: Doug D’Albini Laila Reis Tommy Holland George Eshnaur Absent: Mark Squire Staff Present: Ryan Crowley, Parks Superintendent Patrick Burton, Project Manager Meeting Attendees: Jason Abel APPROVAL OF AGENDA Motion by Laila Reis, seconded by George Eshnaur to approve the agenda. Motion carried. CITIZEN PARTICIPATION Jason Abel proposed a plan to bring a skate park to Spring Hill within the next 5-10 years. Mr. Abel would like the support of the Parks Advisory Board as the skate park would ideally be located in an existing park area. Mr. Abel has been in contact with companies for design and cost estimates. Mr. Abel with help from local organizations plan to raise funds for this project. After some discussion, the Parks Advisory Board expressed their support of the project and encouraged Mr. Abel to stay in contact with Ryan Crowley, Parks Superintendent to enable progress in this effort. FORMAL BOARD ITEMS 1. Approval of Minutes: November 20, 2017 Motion by Laila Reis, seconded by George Eshnaur to approve minutes. Motion carried 4-0-0. 2. Approval of Veteran’s Park Design by Vireo. See attachment A Motion by Laila Reis, seconded by George Eshnaur to approve the park design. Motion carried 4-0-0. 3. Approval of modifications to the boat section of the City Lake Rules. Motion carried 4-0-0 4. Motion to change the Parks Advisory Board Meeting time from 7pm to 6pm. Motion by Laila Reis, seconded by Tommy Holland to change Parks Advisory Board meeting time to 6 p.m. Motion carried 3-1-0 DISCUSSION STAFF REPORTS  Mr. Crowley announced the following event dates for 2018: o Daffodil Days April 28, 2018 o Fishing Derby June 2, 2018 o Parks & Recreation *New Event July 21, 2018 ANNOUNCEMENTS & REPORTS OTHER BUSINESS ADJOURN Motion by Laila Reis, seconded by George Eshnaur to adjourn.
