CALL TO ORDER
Vice Chairman Mark Squire called the meeting to order at 7:07 p.m.

Carol Thomas
Board Members Absent: Doug D’Albini
Staff in Attendance: Dillon Jones, Parks Superintendent
Dora Davison, Administrative Assistant – Public Works
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
ROLL CALL
The Secretary called the roll of the Parks Advisory Board. With a quorum present, the meeting
commenced.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Motion by Tommy Holland, seconded by Carol Thomas, to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
CITIZEN PARTICIPATION
None
FORMAL BOARD ITEMS
Approval of Minutes: June 15, 2020
Motion by Carol Thomas, seconded by Tommy Holland, to approve the June 15, 2020 meeting minutes.
Motion carried.
Recommendation to accept the 2020 Parks Master Plan as presented by Vireo
Motion by Tommy Holland, seconded by Carol Thomas, to approve recommendation. Motion carried.
DISCUSSION
By request of the City Council the Parks Advisory Board discussed the vision of the Woodland
Ridge park area as a memorial area. Members requested staff research possible parking areas
along with costs for walking trail and memorial benches. Mr. Holland will provide members with

his research of like application processes from other cities. Members will bring ideas for the
possible criteria and application process to the next meeting for discussion.
Contain the Rain program funding for Miami County will continue to be discussed with hopes of
beginning the program in Spring Hill in 2021.
Memorial Tree Program was determined to need revision. Ideas to include in the updated
program included adopt a tree, donor certificates and an annual dedication ceremony.
STAFF REPORT
Parks staff has continued work on the Woodland Ridge pond area. This project remains on
schedule to be completed in the Fall of 2020.
