THE FOLLOWING MINUTES ARE SUBJECT TO MODIFICATION AND ARE NOT OFFICIAL MINUTES UNTIL APPROVED BY THE SPRING HILL PARKS ADVISORY BOARD Spring Hill Parks Advisory Board May 17, 2021 CALL TO ORDER Secretary, Caitlin Downey called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. Board Members in Attendance: Catherine Sparks Tommy Holland (via conference call) Caitlin Downey Board Members Absent: Chris Cabe Heather Dubon Staff in Attendance: Dillon Jones, Parks Superintendent PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. ROLL CALL The Secretary called the roll of the Parks Advisory Board. With a quorum present, the meeting commenced. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Motion by Tommy Holland, seconded by Caitlin Downey, to approve the agenda. Motion carried. CITIZEN PARTICIPATION None FORMAL BOARD ITEMS Approval of Minutes: April 19, 2021 Motion by Tommy Holland, seconded by Caitlin Downey, to approve the meeting minutes. Motion carried. Appointment of Chairman and any vacant board positions Chairperson Caitlin Downey nominated Tommy Holland for Chairperson; Catherine Sparks seconded the motion. Motion carried. Appointment of Vice Chairperson advanced to the June meeting. DISCUSSION Spring Hill Parks Advisory Board Meeting Minutes Page 1 of 2  THE FOLLOWING MINUTES ARE SUBJECT TO MODIFICATION AND ARE NOT OFFICIAL MINUTES UNTIL APPROVED BY THE SPRING HILL PARKS ADVISORY BOARD • In-depth conversation regarding concept and criteria of Legacy Park and Program was had with general approval of concept to date. Mr. Jones will prepare a formal submittal action for consideration at the June meeting. • Proposed Main Street parking area supported by present members with agreement that specific details need further consideration. Members would like to give input regarding furnishings for the site. • The City has developed an application for corporate donors regarding the Veterans Park project. STAFF REPORT • Explanation of the new development green space/special parks fund for new members. • Seats, Inc is donating two fishing jetties for Veterans Park. Jetties and memorial footprint will be combined as one project; projected for bidding in the fall. ADJOURN Motion by Caitlin Downey, seconded by Tommy Holland, to adjourn. Motion carried.
