THE FOLLOWING MINUTES ARE SUBJECT TO MODIFICATION AND ARE NOT OFFICIAL MINUTES UNTIL APPROVED BY THE SPRING HILL PARKS ADVISORY BOARD Spring Hill Parks Advisory Board January 23, 2023 CALL TO ORDER Vice-Chair called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. Board Members in Attendance: Katie Sparks Karen LIngenfelter Caitlin Downey Board Members Absent: Jamie Pflumm Staff in Attendance: Jackie Messer, Public Works Director PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. ROLL CALL The Vice-Chair called the roll of the Parks Advisory Board. With a quorum present, the meeting commenced. APPROVAL OF AGENDA --Agenda was amended to add Pledge of Allegiance and Roll Call Motion by Katie Sparks, seconded by Karen Lingenfelter, to approve the agenda. Motion carried. CITIZEN PARTICIPATION None FORMAL BOARD ITEMS 1. Approval of Minutes: 10/24/22 October minutes were not at hand, approval pushed to next Board meeting. 2. Install Artwork – Main Street Park Motion to approve installation if chosen art is patriotic and/or Kansas-based. Motion by Caitlin Downey, seconded by Karen Lingenfelter. Motion carried. 3. Hometown Holidays participation was good. 4. Budget report will be presented next month. STAFF REPORT • Veterans Park Memorial contract has been signed. Construction approved to start 1/31/23. Jetties will be installed first. Project slated for completion in July. • Legacy Park – rock pile has been cleaned up. No current or future plans to install a parking area. ADJOURN Motion by Caitlin Downey, seconded by Katie Sparks, to adjourn. Motion carried.
