THE FOLLOWING MINUTES ARE SUBJECT TO MODIFICATION AND ARE NOT OFFICIAL MINUTES UNTIL APPROVED BY THE SPRING HILL PARKS ADVISORY BOARD Spring Hill Parks Advisory Board February 20, 2023 CALL TO ORDER Secretary called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. Board Members in Attendance: Caitlin Downey Karen Lingenfelter Alyssa O’Connor Board Members Absent: Katie Sparks Jamie Pflumm Staff in Attendance: Jackie Messer, Public Works Director PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. ROLL CALL The Secretary called the roll of the Parks Advisory Board. With a quorum present, the meeting commenced. APPROVAL OF AGENDA -Agenda amended to include Pledge of Allegiance, Approval of Agenda, and Roll Call Motion by Karen Lingenfelter, seconded by Alyssa O’Connor, to approve the agenda. Motion carried. CITIZEN PARTICIPATION None FORMAL BOARD ITEMS 1. Introduction of new member – Alyssa O’Connor 2. Approval of Minutes: 10/24/22 and 1/27/22 Motion by Karen Lingenfelter, seconded by Caitiln Downey, to approve the October meeting minutes. Motion carried. Alyssa O’Connor abstained. January meeting minutes required editing by Secretary. 3. Elections – motion to move elections to next Board meeting Motion by Caitlin Downey, seconded by Karen Lingenfelter. Motion carried. Spring Hill Parks Advisory Board Meeting Minutes Page 1 of 2 THE FOLLOWING MINUTES ARE SUBJECT TO MODIFICATION AND ARE NOT OFFICIAL MINUTES UNTIL APPROVED BY THE SPRING HILL PARKS ADVISORY BOARD 4. Budget Report – The Board has $2000 per annum in the City Budget. The Board uses this funding to provide cocoa and cookies at Hometown Holidays and seasonal plant giveaways for Daffodil Days and the Fall Festival. 5. Veterans Park Memorial – In depth discussion was had regarding time-sensitive design decisions. DISCUSSION • Main Street Park installation – prospective statue chosen by Rec Commission. STAFF REPORT • Jetties construction starting soon. Whole project slated for July/August completion. • Legacy Park – possible funding source found for ADA compliant parking area ADJOURN Motion by Alyssa O’Connor, seconded by Karen Lingenfelter, to adjourn.
