LANDMARKS BOARD AGENDA FOR REGULAR MEETING July 16th, 2018 LANDMARKS BOARD: Steve Martin, Chairperson Tom Kuypers, Vice Chair Denise Mitchell, Secretary Michelle Beucke Cheryl Primm Gene Wood Sherilyn Blair Chris Black Tom Besselman, Council Liaison Mesdames and Gentlemen: On Monday, July 16th, 2018, at 6:00 p.m., the City of St. Charles Landmarks Board will hold its regular monthly meeting in the Council Chambers on the fourth floor of City Hall, 200 North Second Street, St. Charles, Missouri. The agenda for this meeting is as follows: Attention Applicants: It is necessary that you or a knowledgeable representative of your interests be present at the meeting to answer any questions the Board may have concerning your application. The applicant is requesting approval to install one hanging sing under the front gallery porch for the business, Dengler’s Gathering Place. [South Main Preservation District, Ward 2] 5. Structure Review Section 400.1180 Purpose The purpose of this subchapter is to protect, enhance, and perpetrate buildings, structures, districts, and sites of historical, cultural, architectural, engineering or geographic significance. Further, protection of cultural assets from demolition by neglect is an objective of this subchapter. Please note: Obtaining a Certificate of Appropriateness from the Landmarks Board does not authorize the applicant to build a structure. Building permits are required prior to construction. (A) Case No. C/A 2018-1(EC). 132 North Main Street. Tony Bethmann. The applicant is seeking after the fact approval for string lighting on the same gallery. [Historic Downtown District, Ward 1]. The issue of string lighting was tabled at the June 18, 2018 meeting. (B) Case No. C/A 2018-21(SP). 501 South Main Street. Thomas Schmidt. The applicant is requesting to install a rear addition, privacy fence and retain string lights for a new restaurant, Salt +Smoke. [South Main Preservation District, Ward 2] (C) Case No. C/A 2018-56(EC). 450 Lindenwood Avenue. Robert Bittick. The applicant is seeking approval to alter the front porch. [Extended Historic Preservation District, Ward 7] (D) Case No. C/A 2018.57(EC). 330 South Main Street. Katheryne Morschl. The applicant is seeking approval to install a wooden screen beneath a portion of the rear gallery porch.
