Mesdames and Gentlemen:
On Monday, September 16th, 2019, at 6:00 p.m., the City of St. Charles Landmarks Board will
hold its regular monthly meeting in the Council Chambers on the fourth floor of City Hall,
200 North Second Street, St. Charles, Missouri. The agenda for this meeting is as follows:
Attention Applicants: It is necessary that you or a knowledgeable representative of your interests be
present at the meeting to answer any questions the Board may have concerning your application.

is requesting approval to extend the front porch slab. [Extended Historic

applicant is requesting approval to install new windows. [Commons Neighborhood

applicant is requesting approval to move the entrance and install new front doors.

5. Structure Review
Section 400.1180 Purpose
The purpose of this subchapter is to protect, enhance, and perpetrate buildings,
structures, districts, and sites of historical, cultural, architectural, engineering or
geographic significance. Further, protection of cultural assets from demolition by
neglect is an objective of this subchapter.
Please note: Obtaining a Certificate of Appropriateness from the Landmarks Board
does not authorize the applicant to build a structure. Building permits are required
prior to construction.
(A) Case No. C/A 2019-044(EC). 132 North Main Street. Tony Bethmann. The
applicant is requesting approval to replace wooden posts and handrails on the
second-floor front gallery porch with metal. [Historic Downtown District, Ward 1]
(B) Case No. C/A 2019-084(84). 1068 Madison Street. Greg Woodson. The applicant
is requesting approval to construct a new gabled dormer to the east side of the roof,
and to add two columns to the front porch. [Extended Historic Preservation District,
Ward 1]
(C) Case No. C/A 2019-009(SP). 1119 South Benton Street. Scott Torneton. The
applicant is requesting approval to construct a single-family house. [Extended
Historic Preservation District, Ward 2]
(D) Case No. C/A 2019-015(SP). 508 South Fourth Street. Jennifer & Steve Strickland.
The applicant is requesting approval to construct a single-story frame addition.
