LANDMARKS BOARD AGENDA FOR REGULAR MEETING March 16th, 2020 LANDMARKS BOARD: Steve Martin, Chairperson Tom Kuypers, Vice Chair Denise Mitchell, Secretary Michelle Beucke Chris Black Tom Besselman, Council Liaison Mesdames and Gentlemen: On Monday, March 16th, 2020, at 6:00 p.m., the City of St. Charles Landmarks Board will hold its regular monthly meeting in the Council Chambers on the fourth floor of City Hall, 200 North Second Street, St. Charles, Missouri. The agenda for this meeting is as follows: Attention Applicants: It is necessary that you or a knowledgeable representative of your interests be present at the meeting to answer any questions the Board may have concerning your application. Consent Agenda (A) Case No. C/A 2020-011(EC). 622 Washington Street. Tamara Braithwaite. The applicant is requesting approval to tuckpoint the building. The applicant is requesting approval to repair three dormers, cornice, gutters and roofing. The applicant is requesting approval to repaint a commercial building and restore a portion the storefront. (Façade Grant Project) [Historic Downtown District, Ward 1] 3. The applicant is requesting approval for one hanging sign for the business, “The Hobby Girls”. [South Main Preservation District, Ward 2] 2 March 16th, 2020, Landmarks Board Agenda (B) Permit No. 20-0664. 420 Clark Street. Jean Gillam. The applicant is requesting approval for one freestanding sign for the business, “Touchstone Healing Arts Center”. [Frenchtown Historic Preservation District, Ward 1] (C) Permit No. 20-0931. 650 North Main Center. Ian Anderson. The applicant is requesting approval for one hanging sign for the business, “Climb So ILL”. [Frenchtown Historic Preservation District, Ward 1] 5. Structure Review Section 400.1180 Purpose The purpose of this subchapter is to protect, enhance, and perpetrate buildings, structures, districts, and sites of historical, cultural, architectural, engineering or geographic significance. Further, protection of cultural assets from demolition by neglect is an objective of this subchapter. Please note: Obtaining a Certificate of Appropriateness from the Landmarks Board does not authorize the applicant to build a structure. Building permits are required prior to construction.
