MINUTES of the JOINT MEETING of the TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE and TOWN BOARD September 26, 2023 CALL TO ORDER by Chair John Ringhofer STATEMENT OF PUBLIC NOTICE read by Chair ROLL CALL: Chair John Ringhofer, Mary Tyson, Teri Kelly, Anton Rang. Not Present: Joel Skinner PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE recited ADOPTION OF AGENDA: MOTION to adopt the Agenda (Rang/Tyson). Motion carried. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Technology Committee Minutes of 8‐22‐2023: MOTION to approve the Technology Committee Minutes from August 22, 2023 (Ringhofer/Kelly). Motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENTS: Question asked about the status of cable/internet would be available in the Town. ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION and/or ACTIONS BY COMMITTEE 1. Ongoing Items  Sunnylink updates: o Disaster Recovery: Per Sunnylink, this is in place. o Cloud Backup: Per Sunnylink, this is in progress. Sunnylink would like to bring the server to perform the backup upload via their new Gigamax internet. The server will be brought back immediately when finished uploading. o Document management: Synology: Per Sunnylink, The Synology lives on premise and IS in‐effect a server. We can implement the Synology Drive aspect of this server where we can synchronize from anywhere, as well as access from anywhere. The Synology has tested well with the test group (law firm in New Richmond) and Sunnylink is comfortable turning it on. There is no licensing cost with the Synology. o Security for Laptop in Town Hall: Per Sunnylink, the laptop is basically double password protected. When rebooted, it has a BIOS passcode to proceed and then a password to enter Windows. In addition it will soon be BitLocker Encrypted to make data recovery after theft impossible.  Google Drive‐Alerts: John stated he had set up alerts in Google and tested the alerts. There is no way to filter it down further, so it is very  Town Hall addition update: The Board has asked Stantec to provide a site plan for a new building.
