Committee Meeting Updates: (Google drive updates, IT committee updates) Town Board did not approve Preserve signs. Possible Office space to be built in open field south of Town Hall. 2. Ball Field Updates: The softball season will end mid-October. Softball shed has been completed west of 1st base line. 3. 2023 Budget/Impact Fee Balance: The committee would like to request a balance for November. Pickleball court was not included in 2024 budget. 4. Volunteer Priorities: a. Finish stairs for the slides at the town hall. b. Smooth out the dirt surrounding the slides so the black mats can be installed. c. Install black mats under and around slide and stake them in. d. Layout for landscaping around cement and walkway at Town Hall Playground. e. Thelen Cemetery: Brush and Buckthorn removal tabled until next spring. f. Signage at Preserve, wood slabs for benches at preserve. g. Grant writing h. Gravel at Thelen Cemetery. i. Hwy 35 needs to be mowed once or twice a year now that town tractor is fixed. BUSINESS: 1. Discuss Outdoor Recreation Plan final approval: Stantek is close to finishing their review. Parks, Trails and Recreation Committee will review it one more time. Small changes only.The next step for the Outdoor Recreation Plan is to schedule a public hearing. 2. Pickleball Court Updates: Koreen continues to meet with her pickleball group. 3. Review and discuss ToSJ park properties, site inspections, action plans: a) Town Hall Park and Preserve: Grade of hill needs to be addressed for slide and stair placement. Volunteers will meet to construct slide and stairway. b) Nature Preserve: Discussion about having a sign just at the entrance of the Nature Preserve. Motion was made to have a two-sided sign put up on Valley View Trail at the entrance to the Preserve.1st M. Vanassa, P.Tuma 2nd. c) Perch Lake Launch Area and Parking Lot: Town Board approved boat wash station at Perch Lake Boat Launch. County Board will need to be notified. Parking problems on Perch Lake Road over 4th of July will be under jurisdiction of Public Works Committee. d) Thelen Cemetery: Removal of down branches and buckthorn this fall. Pea gravel is needed and will need to be purchased. Project will take place in spring 2024. e) Hwy 35 Rest Area: Site is looking very good. Site will require town mowing 1-2 times per summer. f) Bike/Pedestrian Facilities: No comment. 4. Fall Festival: Meetings will start up again in January 2024. 5. Discuss impact fees and acquisition of ROW for trail to 23rd ST: Laurie to report. Add to next November agenda. 6. Review Annual Park Management Plan: This document is on the google drive.
