MINUTES of the JOINT MEETING of the TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE and TOWN BOARD January 23, 2024 CALL TO ORDER by Chair Ringhofer at 6:00 pm STATEMENT OF PUBLIC NOTICE read by Chair ROLL CALL: Teri Kelly, Theresa Johnson, Laurie DeRosier; Online: Chair John Ringhofer, Joel Skinner, Anton Rang, Mary Tyson, Tim Whiteside-Sunnylink PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE recited ADOPTION OF AGENDA: MOTION to adopt the agenda (Rang/Ringhofer). Motion carried. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Technology Committee Minutes of 12-19-2023 – will be reviewed and approved next month. PUBLIC COMMENTS: None ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION and/or ACTIONS BY COMMITTEE 1. Ongoing Items  Sunnylink updates: o Disaster Recovery/Cloud Backup: Tim Whiteside, Sunnylink, discussed the status of the disaster recovery/cloud backup. Sunnylink is our backup cloud provider. The Town backup is being completed and is working properly.  Google Drive/Shared Storage Solution: Tim Whiteside discussed the Synology Drive and the status. Propose to setup the Technology Committee setup with the Synology Drive to test it and then potentially send a recommendation to the Board. Discussed accessing the Synology Drive. Will have the Technology Committee setup in Synology and will put the materials for all Technology meetings into both the Google Drive and the Synology Drive. The Technology Committee will test the Synology Drive before recommending to the Board.  Town Hall update: Tim Whiteside discussed the possibility of sharing the wireless connection from the Town Hall to the Fire Department. Will further discuss the cabling plans as they are received. Discussed the items discussed at the last Board meeting: lighting, electrical, security, etc.  Password management: Discussed the need for creating a password management policy. Discussed using LastPass with a two-factor authentication. John will review password managers for the next meeting.  Review IT Budget: Reviewed the payments for Town Web Design and internet RECOMMENDATIONS TO TOWN BOARD: None ITEMS FOR NEXT AGENDA: Remove Sunnylink updates, Google Drive/Synology/Shared Storage Solution, Password Management, sub bullet for Password Storage, Town Hall update, Review IT Budget DATE OF NEXT MEETING: February 27, 2024 ADJOURNMENT: MOTION to adjourn at 6:59 pm (Ringhofer/Kelly).
