City Council Regular Meeting

CITY OF STAR COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES December 17, 2001 A regular meeting of the Star City Council was held on December 17, 2001 at the Star Fire Station at 7:00 pm; Mayor Gussie O’Connor presided. Roll Call: Glasgow, Dias, Stegenga, Benedict; all were present. Amend Agenda: Glasgow moved to amend the agenda as follows: #7 Paying Bill, #8 Executive Session – Possible Litigation, #9 Adjournment. Dias seconded the motion. All aye: motion carried. Minutes: Dias moved to approve the minutes of December 4, 2001 as written, Benedict seconded the motion. All aye: motion carried. New Business: Mayor’s Resignation - Mayor O’Connor read her resignation letter. The meeting was turned over to the President of the Council, Gail Glasgow. Appointment of Mayor – Benedict moved to nominate Glasgow to fill the Mayor’s position, Dias seconded the motion. Stegenga, Benedict, Dias – yes; Glasgow abstained, motion carried. The meeting was adjourned for five minutes. Unfinished Business: Findings of Fact & Conclusion of Law – VerMont, LLC.: Stegenga moved to delay this item until the next meeting, Dias seconded the motion. All aye: motion carried. Parking Lot Update: The bids came in higher than expected. Stegenga moved to install a temporary ramp and discuss the issue of the parking lot issue when the weather is warmer, Dias seconded the motion. All aye: motion carried. Street Light Update: The specifications for the streetlights were handed out. Stegenga moved to approve the draft light specification and to proceed with the process of street light bids, Dias seconded the motion. All aye: motion carried. Ordinances & Resolutions: 1 Ordinance No. 64 Burgess Annexation/Zone - Dias read Ordinance No. 64 by title only. This was the second reading. The third reading of the ordinance will be on January 7th, 2002. Pay Bill: Dias moved to approve the payment of $5,409.44 to Alpine Homes, Benedict seconded the motion. All aye: motion carried. Dias moved to go into Executive Session under Idaho Code Section 67-2345 (1)(f) – Litigation, Stegenga seconded the motion. All aye: motion carried. Executive Session was held. Adjournment: Dias moved to adjourn the meeting, Stegenga seconded the motion. All aye: motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 pm.
