Star Historical Committee Meeting Minutes from 4/9/2025 1. Roll Call - (6:05 PM. The Majority Present.) 2. Previous Meeting Minutes Approval - 3/12/25 minutes were amended and approved unanimously. 3. Member Reports 1. Star Library Kisok Update - (Going Great. Looks very nice.) 2. Ron Photos (Photos obtained from Nathan Day and Steve Green. Bringing digitized photos next meeting, Kihosk is all set up at the Library). 3. St. St Plaque and Bricks Update - (Tabled until June). 4. Time Capsule Update (Letters sent; Will be visiting in 2026. (We have storage units available). (Possibly two time capsules) 5. Other Business - (Mary is finding a date to showcase our City's Oral Histories, End of May or Early June.) 6. 2011 Downtown revitalization discussion: (Consider the historic downtown district.) There will be a separate workshop for the historic committee. Rick Chroney may present the Oregon Trail. 4. Committee Recommendations to the City Council - Recommending a budget not to exceed $1,500 for the purchase of a medium-sized time capsule in the size of 19.8X18.2X10.3, with the “City of Star seal,” and an inscription of “To Be Opened On 6/4/2050,” and a Document Preservation Kit. Would Council prefer it to be on a wall or concrete in the foyer of City Hall under glass? 5. Adjournment - 6:52
