Minutes of Tuesday, May 5, 2015 Meeting
Location: Sterling Heights City Hall, 40555 Utica Road, Sterling Heights, MI

Members Present: Maurice Batarseh, Ronald Bindle, David Bollman, Jan Burns,
Frank DiMaria, Grace Finazzo, Margaret Frontiera, Donald Schinzing, John
Stampor, Mona Yassine
Members Absent: Jeanne Schabath
Representing the City: Bridget Doyle & Karen Kazmer
Meeting called to order at 6 p.m.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES :
Motion to approve the meeting minutes of the April 7, 2015 Art Commission
made by John Stampor.
Seconded by: Frank DiMaria Ayes: all Nays: none
AGENDA ITEMS :
A. Featured Artist
Commission members reviewed Featured Artist application from Heidi
Kujat.
Motion to select Heidi Kujat as June-July Featured Artist made by John
Stampor.
Seconded by: Jan Burns Ayes: all Nays: none
B. Memorial Day Parade
David Bollman volunteered to distribute water at the end of the parade
at Heritage Jr. High. Community Relations will have water and cooler
available.
C. Sterlingfest
Commission members juried artist applications for Sterlingfest; all
artists were approved for 2015 Sterlingfest.
OLD BUSINESS:
David Bollman will provide a bid for restoration of the “Spiral Note”
sculpture.
NEW BUSINESS:
OneMacomb is an Art & Culture Commission through Macomb County.
Bridget Doyle suggested an Art Commission member be a liaison for the
city of Sterling Heights; Jan Burns volunteered.
Motion to adjourn at 8:10 p.m. made by Margaret Frontiera.
