CITY OF STERLING HEIGHTS CORRIDOR IMPROVEMENT AUTHORITY MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING August 31, 2011– 5:30 P.M. 40555 UTICA ROAD Sterling Heights, MI 48313 CITY CENTER – ROOM 201 Approved Mary Marcinak called the meeting to order at 5:35 p.m. Members present at roll call: James Boehmer, Denice Gerstenberg, Rose Tocco, Mary Marcinak Members absent: Dan Crombez, Dennis Hansinger, excused, Joe Haney, non-excused Also in attendance: Teresa Jarzab, Recording Secretary Motion to Approve the Agenda Moved by Gerstenberg, supported by Boehmer, to approve the agenda as presented. Ayes: All Nays: None Motion carried. Motion to Approve the September 22, 2010 Minutes Moved by Tocco, supported by Boehmer, to approve the minutes from September 22, 2010. Ayes: All Nays: None Motion carried. New Business Motion to approve reimbursement in the amount of $8,139.49 to BHM Enterprises, located at 5647 Sashabaw Rd. Clarkston, MI 48346 for façade improvements completed at 43711 Van Dyke Ave. Moved by Boehmer, supported by Tocco, to approve façade reimbursement request Ayes: All Nays: None Motion carried. Updates Ms. Gerstenberg updated the committee about the old gas station (Speedway) City Council signed a purchase agreement at the September 7th council meeting. The City is continuing to work with Speedway to meet all future deadlines. Suggested name for the Park “Welcome to the __________________” Van Dyke Park Old Van Dyke District Old Town District Van Dyke Avenue District The Avenue North Van Dyke District Avenue of Sterling Heights Avenue of Van Dyke Avenue Park Van Dyke of the Avenue Old Business Ms. Gerstenberg announced Luke Bonner’s replacement is Kasey Green and she will be starting in September. Board Members Report Ms. Marcinak addressed the issue of unfinished sidewalks along Van Dyke. Concerned about Gas Station (Speedway) media press releases not being specific about deed restrictions, and funding. Sterling American Grill, closed and moved to Four Seasons plaza.
