CITY OF STERLING HEIGHTS MINUTES OF THE ELECTION COMMISSION FEBRUARY 13, 2020 Location: Council Chambers, City Hall, 40555 Utica Road, Sterling Heights, MI 48313 1. Meeting called to order and roll call. Chair Ryska called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. Commissioners present: Wayne Davis, Joseph Niman, Jr., Melanie D. Ryska, City Clerk 2. Approval of Agenda. Motion by Davis, seconded by Niman, to approve the agenda as presented. Yes: All Motion carried. 3. Approval of Meeting Minutes of October 8, 2019. Motion by Davis, seconded by Niman, to approve the meeting minutes of October 8, 2019 as presented. Yes: All Motion carried. 4. To consider establishment of absent voter counting boards for the Presidential Primary Election. Clerk Ryska noted that the changes made to the AVCB were successful and they will continue to tweak the process. The AVCB will be housed at the new Community Center. Motion by Niman, seconded by Davis, to approve Absent Voter Counting Boards for the March 10, 2020 Presidential Primary Election, at the discretion of the City Clerk. Yes: All Motion carried. 5. To appoint Election Inspectors and Receiving Board Members for the March 10, 2020 Presidential Primary Election. The Commission reviewed the lists of workers. Election Commission February 13, 2020 Page 2 Motion by Davis, seconded by Niman, to appoint Election Inspectors and Receiving Board Members for the March 10, 2020 Presidential Primary Election, and to authorize the City Clerk to add additional inspectors as necessary. Yes: All Motion carried. 6. Communication from Citizens. None 7. Old Business. Clerk Ryska provided the Commission with a list of election inspector training dates/time and invited them to attend. 8.
