MINUTES STERLING HEIGHTS HOUSING COMMISSION August 8, 2023 Call To Order by President Venetis at 6:03 p.m. Pledge of Allegiance and Invocation. Roll Call. Present: Szatkowski, Taylor, Terry, Venetis Absent: Walker Present: Executive Director Teresa Jarzab, Sabrina Bollinger Approval of Agenda . Moved by Szatkowski, support by Taylor to approve agenda. Ayes: All. Approval of Minutes . Moved by Venetis, support by Szatkowski to approve the March 14, 2023 minutes. Ayes: All. Executive Director Report. Jarzab introduced LaKesha Calhoun, Executive Manager and welcomed her to the meeting. Jarzab reminded residents of the upcoming Craft day, and recognized Social Worker Michelle Horgan on the certificate of completion for Learn ACP training. Monthly Financial Reports. Szatkowski asked if the CD had been renewed, Jarzab replied yes. Moved by Szatkowski support by Taylor to accept the Schoenherr Towers Operating Summaries Ayes: All. Moved by Taylor support by Terry to accept the Voucher Program Operating Summaries. Ayes: All. New Business 1. Monthly Management Reports . Taylor asked if we will be 100% occupied by the end of the month. Calhoun replied that we are working on that, yes. Moved by Szatkowski, support by Terry to accept the monthly management reports as presented by Fourmidable. Ayes: All. 2. Operating & Voucher Program Summaries (Register & Utility Payables ). Moved by Szatkowski support by Taylor, to approve the housing assistance program register and utility payables as presented by Fourmidable. Ayes: All. Agenda 1 1. Moved by Taylor and seconded by Terry to approve an agreement with Charge EV LLC., located at 15045 Dixie Hwy, Ste. A, Holly MI 48442, and authorize the Executive Director to sign the agreement, under resolution 2023-08-01. Ayes: All Szatkowski asked if the resident who was looking to have a charging station still a resident. Jarzab, yes he is still a resident. A discussion was had about who is responsible for the unit, whether this was a public charger and would it be covered from the elements. Members discussed fire departments concerns about EV fires and will this be far enough away from the building. 2. Moved by Szatkowski and seconded by Terry to approve that the Sterling Heights Housing Commission has reviewed the Macomb County Jurisdiction for the SHHC Housing Choice Voucher Program, and re-instates Macomb County as the program jurisdiction area, under resolution 2023-08-02. Szatkowski asked about the payments to non-Macomb county addresses for the HCV program. Bollinger stated that the landlord does not need to reside in Macomb County, only the rental unit needs to be in the SHHC jurisdiction. Public Participation. None Adjourn.
