Consent Agenda – An ordinance to accept and appropriate a Department of Labor Employment Training Administration (DOLETA) Earmark Grant from the United States Department of Labor for the Paul D. The subject property is located at 3885 Bridge Road and is further identified as Tax Map 13, Parcel 18C and Tax Map 12, Parcel 55*3, Nansemond Voting Borough, Nansemond Taxing District, Zoned B2, General Commercial District Approved 7-0 15. Public Hearing – Conditional Use Permit Request C9-05, submitted by Horton Wray March of Sunrise Gardens, Incorporated, contract purchaser, on behalf of Angus I. Hines, Incorporated, property owner, to permit the operation of a nursery/greenhouse with on premise retail sales in accordance with Sections 31-306 and 31-406 of the Unified Development Ordinance Approved 7-0 16. Public Hearing – Street Vacation Request, SV-1-04, submitted by Dakota Associated, LLC, applicant, for the vacation of approximately 678 linear feet of the western end of Hunter Street and approximately 100 linear feet of the western end of Webb Street Denied 7-0 2 17. Public Hearing – Disposition of the Thomas Jefferson School A motion to continue consideration of this item to the August 17, 2005, City Council meeting Approved 6-1 (Council Member Calvin Jones voted in opposition.) 18. Staff Report – Multi-Modal Trail System No City Council action was required. 19. Motion – A motion to schedule a Work Session for August 17, 2005, at 4:00 p.m., unless canceled. Approved 7-0 A motion to amend the agenda to consider the following items was approved by a vote of 7-0: A motion to support Candidate Build Alteratives of United States Route Location Study Approved 7-0 A resolution setting the salary of the City Assessor. A resolution setting the salary of thee City Attorney. A resolution setting the salary of the City Clerk. A resolution setting the salary of the City Manager. Approved 7-0 20. Late Appearances – Guidelines for the Late Appearances period are outlined in the City Code Section 2-96 and permit each speaker five (5) minutes to address City Council.
