SUFFOLK LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD Meeting Minutes April 12, 2016 Board Members Present: Others Present: Mrs. Judith Stone, President Mr. Clint S. Secretary Mr. Lee Cross Mrs. Sarah Townsend, Assistant Mrs. Sue Nichols Director of Libraries Board Members Absent: Mr. Sean Bilby, Vice-President Ms. Barbara Banze Mrs. Ernestine Langston Mrs. Sharon Slate • The meeting was called to order at 2:10PM by Mrs. Judith Stone, President. A quorum could not be met for this meeting. Therefore, no items were voted on. • The minutes of the January 12, 2016 meeting were previously received by members. • The Library has been notified by the State Library that the estimated State Aid for FY2017 is $160,452 which is an increase of $4,803 from the current year. • Mr. Rudy reported on the Literacy Council. The Literacy Council is participating in “Give Local 757” which is a local effort to give people the opportunity to donate one day, Tuesday, May 3rd. • Mr. Rudy reported on the Health and Human Relations Standing Committee. The City has hired a part-time Therapeutic Recreational Specialist to provide recreational opportunities for people with disabilities. • Mr. Rudy distributed copies of the Library’s Circulation Policy and Code of Conduct. Revisions have been made and they will be voted on at the July 12, 2016 meeting. • The meeting was adjourned at 2:35pm. • The Library Board then toured our new Library2Go. • Our next Library Board meeting will be July 12, 2016.
