The project will engage students in creating community art, recognize that their contribution and creativity matters and generate community pride. The benefits to the community include adding beauty to neighborhoods, deter graffiti on the utility boxes and creates an interesting environment for pedestrians and commuters. In addition, Mrs. Sweet provided examples of other local cities including San Jose, Campbell and Redwood City that have done this project, and believes this project will connect students with the Sunnyvale community through the creation of public art.
