Approve the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission Meeting Minutes of October 18, 2018 as submitted. Commissioner Oey moved and Commissioner Swail seconded the motion to approve the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission Meeting Minutes of October 18, 2018. The motion carried by the following vote: City of Sunnyvale Page 1 Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Meeting Minutes - Final November 15, 2018 Commission Yes 5 - Chair Cordes Vice Chair Bremond Commissioner Oey Commissioner Swail Commissioner Welch No 0 Absent 1 - Commissioner Mehlman Abstain 1 - Commissioner Mehlinger PUBLIC HEARINGS/GENERAL BUSINESS 2. 18-1001 VTA BPAC Updates Dave Simons, VTA BPAC Representative, announced that the County will be conducting a meeting to discuss the Homestead Corridor Improvement Plan on November 26, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Homestead High School Library. Mr. Simons also stated that at the VTA BPAC meeting, they discussed land use issues. 3. 18-1000 BPAC 2019 Draft Annual Work Plan Ralph Garcia, Senior Transportation Engineer, presented the revised draft of the 2019 Annual Work Plan and informed the Commissioners a vote is now required. Chair Cordes requested an East Whisman Specific Plan presentation at an upcoming BPAC meeting. Commissioner Oey and Commissioner Bremond would like to schedule a study session for the Bicycle Master Plan update. Mr. Garcia stated that once a Consultant is selected, a format for the BPAC meeting will be decided. Commissioner Mehlinger would like to add two items to the Bicycle Master Plan: - Caltrain grade separation at Sunnyvale Avenue and Evelyn Avenue. - City of Santa Clara Bicycle Master Plan update impact on Lawrence Station area. Mr. Garcia stated the Caltrain Grade Separation Plan presentation will include the grade separation at Sunnyvale Avenue and Evelyn Avenue. Commissioner Oey moved and Commissioner Welch seconded the motion to approve the 2019 Annual Work Plan. Commissioner Mehlinger moved and Commissioner Mehlman seconded the motion declaring they have read and will abide by the rules of the Code of Ethics. The motioned carried by the following vote: Yes 7 - Chair Cordes Vice Chair Bremond Commissioner Mehlinger Commissioner Mehlman Commissioner Oey Commissioner Swail Commissioner Welch No 0 STANDING ITEM: CONSIDERATION OF POTENTIAL STUDY ISSUES 5. 18-1003 2019 Proposed Study Issues NON-AGENDA ITEMS & COMMENTS -Commissioner Comments Chair Cordes announced that he attended the Chair and Vice Chair Boards and Commissions meeting and hopes improvements will be made to meetings. -Staff Comments Mr. Garcia reminded Commissioners of the Homestead Road Corridor Safe Routes to School meeting to be held at the Homestead High School Library at 6:00 p.m. on City of Sunnyvale Page 3 Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Meeting Minutes - Final November 15, 2018 Commission Monday, November 26, 2018. Mr. Garcia asked if the Commissioners would prefer to cancel the December meeting since there was nothing on the schedule. The commissioners all agreed and Chair Cordes stated for the record that the December 20, 2018 meeting will be cancelled.
