SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING (Study Session) 1 Call to Order in the West Conference Room (Open to the Public) Vice Mayor Davis called the meeting to order at 6:20 p.m. 2 Roll Call Present: 7 - Mayor Jim Griffith Vice Mayor Jim Davis Councilmember David Whittum Councilmember Pat Meyering Councilmember Tara Martin-Milius Councilmember Glenn Hendricks Councilmember Gustav Larsson 3 Study Session 14-0422 Progress Update on the Water Pollution Control Plant Master Plan Study Session Summary: Environmental Services Department Staff presented on the status of the Water Pollution Control Plant Master Plan. Initial discussion revolved around the current processes at WPCP, the Strategic Infrastructure Plan (SIP), and the status of “gap” projects identified by the SIP. Discussion then turned to opportunities for recycled water production based on the final design of the new WPCP and costs related to each option. Council discussion included questions regarding the salinity of the City’s recycled water, the possibility of using some of the new WPCP site for solar arrays, the possibility of climate change affecting the design of the surrounding area, and ongoing funding for the WPCP project overall. 4 Public Comment None.
