SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING (Study Session) 1 Call to Order in the West Conference Room (Open to the Public) Vice Mayor Martin-Milius called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm 2 Roll Call Present: 7 - Mayor Jim Griffith Vice Mayor Tara Martin-Milius Councilmember David Whittum Councilmember Pat Meyering Councilmember Jim Davis Councilmember Glenn Hendricks Councilmember Gustav Larsson 3 Public Comment A member of the public raised a question about what kind of rate increases residents could expect moving forward. Staff indicated that expected rate increases are listed as part of the City’s 20-year financial plan and that the vast majority of the costs related to the Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP) rebuild have already been factored in to the rates for the next 15 years., Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE) 4 Study Session 15-0483 Sunnyvale Clean Water Program - Master Plan Update Members of the Environmental Services, Public Works, and Finance staff presented an update regarding the WPCP rebuild project. Items for discussion included existing facilities, initial (gap) projects, and phases of the project that would lead to its ultimate completion, as well as the public outreach efforts that would be involved in the project. Staff presented updated cost information and information regarding negotiations with the Santa Clara Valley Water District (District) regarding treatment options moving forward.
