SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING (Study Session) Call to Order Pursuant to Government Code Subdivision 54953(e), the meeting was conducted telephonically; pursuant to state law, the City Council made the necessary findings by adopting Resolution No. 1089-21, reaffirmed on January 25, 2022. Vice Mayor Cisneros called the meeting to order at 6:40 p.m. via teleconference. COUNCIL MEETING CALL TO ORDER Pursuant to Government Code Subdivision 54953(e), the meeting was conducted telephonically; pursuant to state law, the City Council made the necessary findings by adopting Resolution No. 1089-21, reaffirmed on January 25, 2022. Mayor Klein called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. via teleconference. PUBLIC HEARINGS/GENERAL BUSINESS 2 22-0024 Authorize the City Manager to Execute a Sublease with Planetary Ventures, LLC for City of Sunnyvale to Continue Leasing Approximately 35.4 acres of Land Used as Part of the Sunnyvale Golf Course Public Works Director Chip Taylor provided the staff report and presentation. Public Hearing opened at 7:16 p.m. Bryce Beagle supported the sublease and requested alternate open space uses be considered at the site. Stephen Meier spoke towards providing open space for all members of the public. He voiced support for modifying the scope of Study Issue DPW 18-11 Analysis of Sunnyvale Golf Program to consider alternate open space uses and renewing the sublease. City of Sunnyvale Page 4 City Council Meeting Minutes February 15, 2022 Public Hearing closed at 7:18 p.m. MOTION: Vice Mayor Cisneros moved and Councilmember Larsson seconded the motion to approve Alternative 1: Authorize the City Manager to execute the Sublease between Planetary Ventures, LLC, and the City of Sunnyvale to continue leasing 35.4 acres of land used as part of the Sunnyvale Golf Course, in substantially the same form as Attachment 1 to the report. The motion carried with the following vote: Yes: 7 - Mayor Klein Vice Mayor Cisneros Councilmember Larsson Councilmember Hendricks Councilmember Melton Councilmember Din Councilmember Spitaleri No: 0 COUNCILMEMBERS REPORTS ON ACTIVITIES FROM INTERGOVERNMENTAL COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS Mayor Klein reported his attendance at a recent Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE) Board of Directors meeting where rates were adjusted to remain 1% below Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) rates.
