CALL TO ORDER
Chair Hiremath called the meeting to order at 7 p.m.

Meeting Minutes of September 25, 2019
Chair Hiremath asked for a motion to approve the consent calendar or discussion.
MOTION: Commissioner Gilbert moved and Vice Chair Stetson seconded the
motion to Approve the Housing and Human Services Commission Minutes of
September 25, 2019 as submitted.

PUBLIC HEARINGS/GENERAL BUSINESS
2 19-1130 Funding Recommendation for FY 2019/20 Supplemental
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funding for
Capital and Affordable Housing Projects.
Housing Programs Analyst Leif Christiansen provided the staff report and answered
questions.
Chair Hiremath opened the public hearing at 7:13 p.m.
Sunnyvale Community Services Executive Director Marie Bernard spoke about the
proposed purchase of a larger facility to accommodate the increased need for
services in Sunnyvale and asked for the commissioners to support staff's
recommendation.
Chair Hiremath closed the public hearing at 7:35 p.m.
After some questions of staff, Chair Hiremath asked for a motion.
Vice Chair Stetson moved and Commissioner Grossman seconded the motion to
approve Alternative 1: Recommend that City Council fund the CDBG capital project
in the amounts shown in Attachments 2 to the report.

There were no comments.
STANDING ITEM: CONSIDERATION OF POTENTIAL STUDY ISSUES
19-1095 Housing and Human Services Commission Potential Study
Issues, Calendar Year: 2020
Housing Officer Jenny Carloni gave a short overview of the study issue and the staff
recommendation.
After a lengthy discussion and clarification question from staff, Chair Hiremath
asked for a motion.
Commissioner Grossman moved and Commissioner Gilbert seconded the motion to
support the proposed study issues with some clarification language added. The final
language will be brought back to the next meeting.

She also noted that a Housing Mitigation Nofice of Funding Availability will be
released next month. $20 million will be available for Affordable Housing Projects.
