CALL TO ORDER
Pursuant to Government Code Subdivision 54953(e), the meeting was conducted
telephonically; pursuant to state law, the City Council made the necessary findings
by adopting Resolution No. 1089-21, reaffirmed on June 21, 2022.
Chair Wickham called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. via teleconference.

Chair Wickham, Vice Chair Kunz, all Commissioners, and Councilmember Larsson
attended via teleconference.
PRESENTATION
22-0742 PRESENTATION - Climate Action Playbook: Quarterly
Progress Update
Madeline Willett, Interim Environmental Programs Manager, presented the quarterly
progress update on Climate Action Playbook implementation. Commissioners asked
clarifying questions, and staff provided answers.

1 22-0744 Approve the Sustainability Commission Meeting Minutes of
June 20, 2022
Commissioner Pistone moved, and Commissioner Veitch seconded, a motion to
approve the consent calendar.

Abstain: 3 - Chair Wickham
Commissioner Nabhan
Commissioner Srinivasan
Chair Wickham and Commissioners Srinivasan and Nabhan abstained as they were
absent from the June meeting.
PUBLIC HEARINGS/GENERAL BUSINESS
2 22-0743 Selection of Chair and Vice Chair
Ms. Willett provided an overview of the Chair and Vice Chair selection process.
Chair Wickham opened the floor to nominations for the office of Chair.
Commissioner Wang nominated Chair Wickham to serve as Chair. Chair Wickham
accepted the nomination.
With no further nominations, Chair Wickham closed the floor for the nominations for
the office of Chair.
Chair Wickham opened public hearing.
Jonathan Stone voiced support for Commissioner Wang.
Joseph Smithers provided comments to the Commission.

Chair Wickham closed public hearing.
The Commissioners voted to elect Chair Wickham to serve as Chair as follows:

Chair Wickham was re-elected as Chair of the Sustainability Commission.
Chair Wickham opened the floor for nominations for the office of Vice Chair.
Chair Wickham nominated Vice Chair Kunz to serve as Vice Chair. Vice Chair Kunz
accepted the nomination.
With no further nominations, Chair Wickham closed the floor to nominations for the
office of Vice Chair.
The Commissioners voted to elect Vice Chair Kunz to serve as the Vice Chair as
follows:

Ms. Willett shared that the Sustainability team brought on a summer high school
intern to support outreach efforts.
