CALL TO ORDER
Chair Kunz called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. in the Bay Conference Room
(Room 145) at City Hall.

PRESENTATION
24-0473 PRESENTATION - Updates from Youth Groups
(Commissioner Presentation)
Vice Chair Veitch invited Briana Horta, Management Analyst in the Office of
Sustainability for the County of Santa Clara, and Jasneet Sharma, Director of the
Office of Sustainability for the County of Santa Clara, to provide an overview and
update on the County’s Youth Climate Initiative Program. Commissioners asked

clarifying questions, and Ms. Horta and Ms. Sharma provided answers.
STUDY SESSION
24-0474 Climate Action Playbook Update: 2022 GHG Inventory and
Progress Update
Christina Raby, Environmental Engineering Coordinator, presented the 2022
Greenhouse Gas Inventory results and provided Climate Action Playbook progress
updates. Commissioners asked clarifying questions, and staff provided answers.

24-0475 Approve the Sustainability Commission Meeting Minutes of
February 20, 2024
Vice Chair Veitch moved and Commissioner Besser seconded the motion to
approve the consent calendar. The motion carried by the following vote:

-Commissioner Comments
Commissioner Wickham encouraged Commissioners to attend the City of
Sunnyvale’s Earth Day Festival and Civic Center Grand Opening on April 20, 2024,

as well as attend other Earth Day events happening in the County. Commissioner
Wickham reminded Commissioners of the March 19, 2024, City Council Study
Session on Draft Game Plan 2028.
Chair Kunz echoed Commissioner Wickham’s announcement about the March 19
City Council Study Session on Draft Game Plan 2028 and encouraged
Commissioners to attend and participate in the public comment period.

upcoming events.

24-0474 Climate Action Playbook Update: 2022 GHG Inventory and
Progress Update
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
The Chair may determine it would be impractical to include remote public
comment during Oral Communications for the purpose of timeliness of the meeting
or conducting an orderly meeting. Such a determination shall be made prior to
opening public comment on Oral Communications.
This category provides an opportunity for members of the public to address the
Sustainability Commission on items not listed on the agenda and is limited to 15
minutes (may be extended or continued after the public hearings/general business
section of the agenda at the discretion of the Chair) with a maximum of up to three
minutes per speaker. Please note the Brown Act (Open Meeting Law) does not
allow the Sustainability Commission to take action on an item not listed on the
