Roll Call Present: Deanna Reder, Ephraim Nikoi, Tatiana Bergum, Jenny Van Sickle (Virtual) Louren Yzaguirre (Virtual), Tanzeem Ali (Virtual) 2. Approval of November Minutes Motion by Ephraim Nikoi seconded by Tanzeem, carried to approve 3. Tatiana Bergum – Human Trafficking Task Force Twin Ports January Trafficking Awareness Month (Event on Jan. 9th at noon at AICHO in Duluth). Brief presentation about Human Trafficking Proclamation. Needs a few sentences to a paragraph from our Commission for the Human Trafficking proclamation by Friday morning December 16th 2023. Both Mayors of Duluth and Superior will be at the Proclamation Ceremony on January 9th, 2023. Discussion followed. Motion by Jenny Van Sickle moved by Tanzeem Ali, seconded by Louren Yzaguirre Drafting of the Human Trafficking Proclamation statement input from our Mayor's Commission on Communities of Color. 4. Wepage Updates No action 5. Tablecloths No action 6. Any other business Reder will include MLK day program and involvement by Commission in January agenda items Ali will reach out to UW-Superior regarding Cultural Event(s) Program for 2023 invites 7. Roll Call Present: Deanna Reder, Ephraim Nikoi, Tanzeem Ali (virtual) Absent: Jenny VanSickle Also Present: Rebecca Scherf, Mayor Jim Paine 2. Approval of October 10th Minutes MOTION by Ali, second by Nikoi, carried to approve. 3. Laura Gapske – Human Trafficking Task Force Held. Gapske could not make it. Will be in December if Gapske is available. 4. Policy Recommendations to create more accessibility to BIPOC community Events/Businesses Commissioner Nikoi discussed his project on BIPOC entrepreneurs. 5. Follow Up on Website COS Scherf to meet with Dan Shea before next meeting 6. Budget COS Scherf advised of $200 budget. Will look into costs of prices of tablecloths for tabling events. 7. Meeting adjourned at 6:21PM
